GM of Canada's Saturn Division Posts Another Record Month
(Non-adjusted sales results - June 2007 had 27 selling days vs. June 2006 with 26 selling days)
    Oshawa, Ontario (July 4th, 2007) - For June 2007, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered a total of 42,466 units, down 6.3% over the same month last year.

    Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service, and marketing said, "June capped off a successful first half of the year for GM with retail sales up slightly calendar year to date and up 4% during the second quarter. We expect to continue this trend in the second half of the year as the recently launched GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave crossovers build momentum and we launch the highly anticipated new Chevrolet Malibu this fall."

    Comeau added "Saturn continues to be the big news for GM with its second consecutive record sales month, up 87.5%. The Sky was up 83% over last June and the Aura sedan and Outlook crossover continue to sell beyond expectations. The new 2008 Vue is also creating buzz as it begins to arrive in retail showrooms."

    Sales Highlights for June

    • The Saturn division posted an 87.5% increase in June
    • The Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pick ups were up 18% for the calendar year and 5.6% for June, marking the sixth consecutive monthly increase since the launch of the new trucks
    • Mid-utilities were up 56.7% for the month, driven by the strength of GMs all new crossovers, the GMC Acadia,
      Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook
    • The Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roadsters were up a combined 28.5%
