GM Canada November 2008 Sales Results
(November 2008 and November 2007 both had 26 selling days)

Oshawa, Ontario (December 2, 2008) - For November 2008, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered 21,486 units.

Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service, and marketing said, "GM maintained its position as car sales leader in Canada calendar-year-to-date due to the continued success of key launch products like the Pontiac Vibe and Chevrolet Malibu."

"We have seen a huge transformation that started at GM in 2005 and we are seeing it in the products we sell", continued Comeau. "GM has made great strides in becoming a leaner, greener and more innovative company. We see it in the fact that we sell more small cars and offer more hybrids in Canada than any other company. We see it in the fact that we have won North American car of the year for the past two years running."

November Sales Highlights
  • The Chevrolet Malibu continues a year-long launch momentum, up another 131% for the month and holding strong up 82.8% for the year.
  • Sales remain strong for the Pontiac Vibe, up 27.2% for the month and 36.1% for the year.
  • GMs small crossovers performed well in November, with the Chevrolet HHR up 20.7% and the Saturn Vue up 13.1%. In fact, GMs retail sales for the small crossover segment, which also includes the Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent, are up 18.3% year-to-date.
  • Buick Enclave was flat for the month but maintained its solid performance for the year, up 114.8%.
