GM Canada Sales for September 2005
(Data is not adjusted for the difference in selling days for September 2005 versus September 2004)

Oshawa, Ontario (October 03, 2005) - General Motors of Canada dealers and retailers delivered 32,998 vehicles in September 2005, a 10.5% decline over the same month last year. Passenger car sales for the month were down 0.9% to 17,737 units while truck sales decreased by 19.6% to 15,261 units.

Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service and marketing said, "Our car sales were encouraging with many new entries exceeding expectations. While our overall truck volume was down, our new entries in the small utility segment sold well last month with a 64% increase over the same month last year. As availability continues to improve for the Equinox, Torrent and HHR, we are seeing impressive sales gains."


GM Vehicle Sales Highlights for September

Chevrolet Malibu continues its growth path with a 53% increase over last September.

Chevrolet Equinox and HHR along with the Pontiac Torrent increased sales volume by almost 64% over the same month last year.


Calendar Year-To-Date Summary

For the calendar year-to-date ending September 30, 2005, GM Canada sales are up by 4.1%.

Oshawa built Buick Allure continues to outsell its predecessors by 56% and Pontiac G6 is catching on, outpacing its predecessor by 35%.
